Multicolor Agapornis fischeri

In 2002 I first reported about a ‘multicolor’ phenotype in Agapornis fischeri. These birds have a local reduction of both eumelanin and psittacine, random spread over plumage. This creates green birds with yellow and blue spots. Till 2022 we had registered only 3 ‘multicolor’ Agapornis fischeri, but none of these birds had bred offspring. At the beginning of 2023 we received notification of a multicolor that is fertile and from which we have offspring. This is under further research.
