FAQ: Neophema bourkii or Neopsephotus bourkii

FAQ: Some taxonomist list include Bourke’s parrot in Neophema others in Neopsephotus. Is it Neophema bourkii or Neopsephotus bourkii?

Bourke’s parrot (Neopsephotus bourkii), was indeed formerly included in Neophema but is placed in the monotypic Neopsephotus as sister genus to Neophema in 2008 after the research of Christidis (Christidis and Boles, 2008). Last year this has been reconfirmed by new studies (Hogg et al., 2021)
